Real Estate Investment Firm Announces Name Change

Minneapolis, MN, August 1, 2012– Stewart Stender announced that Stewart Lawrence Group has changed its name to Stewart Capital Partners. The firm focuses on commercial real estate investment, development and consulting services. They pursue opportunities that require innovation, market foresight and value creation. The company leverages over 35 combined years of commercial real estate experience in office, industrial, multi-family, and medical office.


Mr. Stender is a well-known fixture in the Twin Cities commercial real estate community and has been involved in market leading office and industrial development, office and industrial acquisition and re-positioning, and multi-family, high-rise condominium development.. He began his real estate career with Trammell Crow in Chicago in 1982.  As Co-Founder of Stewart Lawrence Group from 2006 – 2012, he led the firm into a joint venture with Atlanta-based Turnstone Group focused on the acquisition of distressed residential home, vacant finished single family lots, and residential land in the Southeast United States. During that time the firm also acquired the 300,000 square foot Hopkins Cold Storage building and assisted the University of Minnesota in the development of a 9-story student housing project in downtown Rochester, Minnesota.  From 1994 – 2006, Mr. Stender was Co-Founder and President of APEX Asset Management, where he was involved in the acquisition of over three million square feet of office, industrial and multi-family properties, in addition to partnering with OPUS Northwest in the development of Grant Park and The Carlyle high-rise condominiums projects in downtown Minneapolis.


Stewart Capital Partners are located in Suite 920 of the 8500 Tower of Normandale Lake Office Park in Minneapolis, which is of particular significance as Stender was a partner in the development of the 8500 Tower.
