Minneapolis-based Stewart Lawrence Group said Brookdale Corporate Center has earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Energy Star label for superior energy efficiency. After building modifications and conservation measures were made, the project was rated in the top 21 percent of all comparable buildings nationwide in terms of energy efficiency.

Brookdale Corporate Center, owned by BCC Associates LLC, an affiliate of Stewart Lawrence Group, and managed by CB Richard Ellis, consists of two, six-story buildings constructed in 1981 and 1985 that total 228,000 square feet located at the southeast intersection of I-94/694 and Shingle Creek Parkway.

Specific conservation measures that contributed to obtaining the ENERGY STAR rating for the buildings included an overhead lighting retrofit in common areas and tenant spaces, a geothermal system heat exchange system, upgrades to the Building Automation System and installation of new cooling towers with premium efficiency motors.
