Escape Fire Protection

Date of Acquisition: January 31, 2020

Selling Entity: Escape Fire Protection LLC
Little Canada, Minnesota

Buying Entity: Escape Fire Protection Inc.
Minneapolis, Minnesota

Company Background: Founded in 2003, Escape Fire Protection (EFP) is a service-based commercial contractor that specializes in the design and installation of fire protection for new and existing construction, inspections, design, and maintenance of all types of fire sprinkler systems. Special areas of expertise include retail, office/warehouse, industrial, multi-family residential, data centers, high-rise office buildings, medical, and government facilities.

Situation: In 2019, the Majority Owners of EFP approached Stewart Capital Partners and Orion Financial Corp. about a potential sale of the company. The Owners were interested in planning for the long-term growth of the company.  The Owners desired a Buyer which could help grow the company, establish a board of directors, and invest in the company’s growth.  The Owners desired partners who had experience in owning and growing related commercial construction subcontractors. Furthermore, in the right situation with the right partners, the Owners were willing to stay on-board as partners with the acquiring entity for a significant number of years after the sale.

Outcome: Stew Stender of Stewart Capital Partners and Al Geiwitz of Orion Financial Corp. formed Escape Fire Protection Inc. to acquire EFP. The company’s plan is to continue to maintain its customer service focus and employee culture while continuing to grow organically and scout for synergistic companies to acquire.
